New Town Celebrates New City Hall And The Venue
Part of New Town’s 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, Aug. 29 included the ribbon cutting for their new city hall and The Venue.
Council members and city employees joined for the ceremony that began with an opening prayer and blessing. The Legion held the first flag raising at the new building.
Mayor Jay Standish and MHA Councilwoman Monica Mayer both spoke about the importance of this day. In her comments, Mayer spoke about the importance of the city and tribe working together to revitalize New Town’s Main Street. That included the tribe’s support for The Venue, which will be a welcome place for gatherings for years to come.
Before opening the doors to tours and refreshments, city employees and council members held the official ribbon cutting.
