New Town Car Show Held
Main Street on New Town was full of cars and motorcycles on Friday, June 13 as the first day of this year’s New Town Chamber Car and Motorcycle show kicked off. This year’s seventh annual event expanded in collaboration with 4 Bears Casino & Lodge to include Saturday events at the casino.
Friday saw judging for three best
in show categories for cars and trucks, one for motorcycles and a kid’s best in show. Downtown businesses were sponsoring free food and sales, along with vendors set up throughout the downtown area. There were bouncy houses for kids and Mountrail County NDSU Extension and Ft. Berthold NDSU Extension had activities for the kids. The day ended with a scenic parade to the casino parking lot where a private dinner was served for vehicle entrants, family members, vendors and sponsors.
Saturday moved to the casino with car shows with new best in show categories, go-karts and inflatables, a MECA audio contest, a burnout contest, and a concert with The Docksiders.
On Sunday, they had a Father’s Day breakfast buffet at the Edgewater Country Club Golf Course and there was a Father’s Day cruise on the River Willow.
The annual event was a fundraiser for the New Town City Library LEGO League program with Reynolds Insurance Agency matching the monies raised by the entry fees paid by vehicle owners and vendors.
