New Town Car Show Expands To Two Days

The annual New Town Chamber Car and Motorcycle Show will be expanding to a two day event this year. On Friday, June 13, the events will be on Main Street in New Town from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, June 14, events will move to the 4 Bears Casino from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
You can register for one or both days. If you register for both days, that will come with a Steak Night meal ticket, one concert ticket for “The Docksiders-Yacht Rock Cover Band”, and one River Willow Boat ride ticket valid from June 13 through 15. Registering for just Friday registration comes with a Steak Night meal ticket. Just Saturday registration comes with one concert ticket for “The Docksiders-Yacht Rock Cover Band”, and one River Willow Boat ride ticket valid from June 13 through 15.
All vehicles and vendor entry fees are part of a fundraiser for the New Town City Library, and the vehicles and vendor entry fees will be matched by Reynolds Insurance Agency Inc. All the funds will be donated to the “New Town City Library – First LEGO League Robotics team”.
Reynolds Insurance Agency is a proud sponsor of the New Town Chamber Car and Motorcycle Show. Since 2018 Reynolds Insurance has matched the entry fees towards the institution chosen. In the past entry fees were donated to Lakeside Community Assistant Living, the New Town Eagles Backpack Program and in the past three years, donations have supported the First LEGO League Program at the New Town City Library.
There will be prizes awarded both days.
On Friday prizes will include Best of Show for vehicles 1949 and prior, $350.00; Best of Show for vehicles 1950 to 1989, $350.00; Best of Show, vehicles 1990 and newer, $350.00; Best of Show Motorcycle, $200.00 and Kids’ Best in Show by United Quality Co-op, $100.00 and trophy.
On Saturday prizes categories will be Lowriders, $350.00; Exotic Paint and Wrap, $350.00; Luxury and Supercars, $350.00; Antiques and Classic Cars, $350.00; Hot Rods, Rat Rods and Street Rods, $350.00; Burnout Contest Winner, 4 tires or $1,000.00 United Quality Co-op Tire Service store credit; and Sound System Competition with awards, trophies and up to $500.00 as well as up to $300.00 Free Play at 4 Bears Casino.
Kids’ Best in Show by United Quality: Kids are welcome to join in the fun and become judges in the Kids’ Best in Show sponsored by United Quality. They will have the opportunity to register at upon arrival upon at the event and pick the best in show of their choice. Kids’ Best in Show is now a United Quality trademark in the New Town Car Show.
There will be a number of other events throughout the two days.
On Friday, a kids’ STEAM corner will be hosted by the New Town City Library, 4H-Mountrail County, NDSU and Dakota West Credit Union with sphero balls, seed bombs, marble maze, binary code bracelets and Lego cars.
This year they are adding a “Touch-A-Truck” section. This section seeks to foster a positive awareness about large trucks and their drivers in a family-friendly environment where children can explore heavy machinery, earth-movers, giant trucks, drilling rigs and more. Kids will be able to climb in under supervision and experience the large equipment. If you would like to send a big rig to be displayed at the event, please call Gisele at 701-627-4293.
On Saturday, the Legion Post 290 is hosting a benefit breakfast at the Edgewater Country Club Golf Course from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The proceeds from the benefit breakfast will split in two equal parts and will be donated to the Mountrail County Pink Ladies and the New Town Eagles Backpack Program.
MECA Car Audio is hosting a car audio competition during the New Town Car and Motorcycle Show with sound pressure league competitions for all levels of contestants and sound pressure league using the clamp meter to measure true power output, combined with woofer cone surface area. This will be the their first time in North Dakota. They will be coming from Kentucky. MECA is the Mobile Electronics Competition Association, which is a contest organization that has been promoting car audio competitions for over 25+ years.
The Car Audio Competition will take place at the 4 Bears Casino Parking Lot on Marina Dr. by “The Point” on Saturday.
This is the very first time they are adding the burnout contest as well. The constants will have 30 seconds to heat up some smoke at the 4 Bears Casino Parking Lot on Marina Dr. by “The Point”. They are expecting about 30 vehicles to enter to this competition on Saturday.
Saturday Kids’ Corner will include Go-Karts and the 4 Bears Waterpark.
The scavenger hunt will be open for the whole community, not only car show participants or attendees. Take your scavenger hunt card, collect stickers at each stop and share photos on social media. Go around the New Town businesses for a scavenger hunt experience that includes car wash, landscape photo, shopping and eating. Completed scavenger hunt cards will be collected on Saturday until 5 p.m. at the 4 Bears Casino Gift Shop. A list of participating stores and prizes will be posted on June 2 at the event page.
The closing event will be on Saturday with a music concert with “The Docksiders Yacht Rock Cover Band” at the 4 Bears Casino Event Center. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:00 p.m.
