Mountrail County 4-H Participates In Meats Judging Contest
The Mountrail County 4-H Meats Judging team represented North Dakota at two recent meat judging contests, one being the National contest which they qualified for by placing 1st in the state judging contest. The final contest was the Nebraska Beef Youth Meat Judging Contest which took place on October 19th in Omaha, Nebraska.
Their final placings were as follows: Team placings: 9th place Overall Team; 3rd place Retail Cut ID; Individual placings: Rebecca Littlefield, New Town, 11th place Overall, 9th place Retail Cut ID; Brooklyn Weyrauch, Stanley, 9th in placing classes, 7th in retail Cut ID.
The National 4-H Meat Judging Contest held at Kansas State University took place on October 21st in Manhattan, Kansas. Their final placings are as follows: Team placings: 6th place Overall Team, 4th place Retail Cut ID, 7th place Reasons, 6th place Retail Cut Judging, 6th place Total Judging (placing classes). Individual placings: Brooklyn Weyrauch, Stanley, 12th place Overall, 9th place Retail Cut ID; Rebecca Littlefield, New Town, 8th place Retail Cut ID with a perfect score.
