Michael A. Lucy Inducted Into Dakotas Hall Of Fame With American Family Insurance
American Family Insurance is proud to announce the induction of Mr. Michael A. Lucy (Mike) into the prestigious Dakotas Hall of Fame for North Dakota and South Dakota. This honor recognizes Mr. Lucy’s exceptional dedication and commitment to both his professional and personal life, leaving an impeccable mark on the insurance industry and his community.
Mike’s journey with American Family Insurance began in April 1992, following his introduction to the company by then hiring manager, Jim Klassen. Mike’s office location is in southwest Minot, ND. His career has been distinguished by numerous Life Insurance qualifications and achieving All-American status multiple times. Being a mentor to many, he has lived and embodied the “Givers Get,” mentality, giving selflessly to others without expecting anything in return. He has brought his family into the business, encouraging them to grow and learn alongside him.
Mike grew up in a small rural community and still has deeply connected ties there. Until just recently, Mike had a secondary office located in Stanley, ND.
Before joining American Family, Mike graduated from Minot State University with a business degree. His deep connection to his community is evident through his involvement and giving tendencies to various organizations. He also serves as the president of Give 360, a community giving circle within the Minot Area Community Foundation.
Mike’s dedication to his family is unwavering. Mike and his wife, Nancy, are proud parents to four daughters Samantha, Ashley, Haddie and Jocelyn, and grandparents to five grandchildren. His roles as a basketball coach and supportive figure in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities highlight his commitment to family values.
The induction ceremony took place on April 24, 2025, where Mike was surprised with the honor as well as surprised by his family all being there to support him.
