INSPIRITUS Foundation Announces Grants
Grants totaling $191,886.80 were given on Thursday, Nov. 13 to support a wide variety of area projects at the INSPIRITUS Community Health Foundation’s grant luncheon. $536,800 in Twice Blessed grants were also announced during that campaign’s kickoff.
Grants are for projects that impact the mental, physical, spiritual and/or emotional well-being of people in Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Ward and Wells counties. Ojibwa week programming, community resource centers and food pantries, handicap accessibility projects, pregnancy and parenting support, higher ed scholarships, meals and transportation for seniors, juvenile drug court incentive program, youth camp scholarships, tennis and pickleball courts, school bus passes, dental care for children, mental health initiatives, hybrid hygiene pantry, services for armed forces active duty members and veterans, ambulance and firefighter services, therapy space and much more will be impacted by these grants.
“We are especially thankful and grateful to the many organizations, board members, staff and volunteers who work tirelessly in our region to secure a better quality of life by identifying and serving the needs in their communities,” said Shelly Wepler, President of the ICHF.
Beginning on November 15, ICHF also began matching contributions up to a total amount of $518,300 to 94 agencies and food pantries through the Twice Blessed Program. Organizations submitted applications and were approved to be a part of the program. You can contribute to the agency of your choice at twiceblessednd.com through December 31. Last January, $1.5 million in donations and grants were distributed through the Twice Blessed program. You can make your gift go further by giving to an organization’s Twice Blessed campaign or to their endowment fund. Both count toward their Twice Blessed match. Endowment gifts may be eligible for a 40% ND tax credit.
Area programs participating in the Twice Blessed program include the Berthold Zion Food Pantry with a match of $1,000; Community Food Pantry Makoti, match of $1,250; Dakota Hope Clinic, match of $10,000; Domestic Violence Crisis Center for emergency shelter and transitional living, match of $25,000; Girls Scouts-Dakota Horizons for body appreciation programming for girls, match of $1,000; Mountrail Community Food Pantry, match of $1,750; Mountrail County Health Foundation for Mountrail Bethel Nursing Home beds, match of $10,000; Powers Lake Food Pantry, match of $1,000; and Stanley Area Cares for Kids for the backpack program, match of $5,000.
ICHF is an independent 501(c)(3) public charity community foundation formed in June of 1998. The foundation has awarded over $15.5 million in grants to organizations for many worthwhile projects to assist with programs that address quality of life issues in North Central North Dakota.
