Honor Society Project Spreads Kindness To Seniors

The residents of Mountrail Bethel Home and Rosen Place recently received a heartwarming surprise, thanks to the kindness and generosity of Stanley High School student Ella Mortensen. A member of the National Honor Society, Ella centered her NHS project around caring for the elderly, bringing comfort and joy to those who call the local care facilities home.
Understanding the importance of companionship and thoughtful gestures, Ella chose to create personalized care bags for each resident. The colorful bags contained handwritten cards, non-slip socks, chapstick, and a sweet treat, small but meaningful items selected to bring comfort to their daily lives.
The care packages were a welcome gift. A caretaker at the facility shared, “Residents at Mountrail Bethel Home and Rosen Place were uplifted by her kind heart.” The gesture was more than just a project for Ella; as a CNA at the facility, she has seen firsthand how much joy even the simplest acts of kindness can bring. Wanting to make a lasting impact, she designed the project to ensure that each resident felt remembered and valued.
Ella’s commitment to serving others is a testament to the power of compassion and the positive influence young people can have on their communities. Her thoughtfulness and generosity have left a lasting impression on the residents she cares for.
