Honor Society Members Inducted

Stanley High School Chapter of the North Dakota Association of Honor Society and National Honor Society held their induction ceremony for members of the Class of 2027 on Sunday, May 3 in the Stanley High School gym as part of the Activities Night recognition.
This year’s candidates for induction were Kylee Collins, Kaylee Cotton, Kerrigan  Gustafson, Jackelyne Hernandez, Mckenna Jones and Mya Mortensen.
The guiding principles are scholarship: academic excellence and achievement; leadership: participation in school activities and community leadership roles; service: volunteer work and community service; and character: the six pillars of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
The new inductees were administered the member pledge to uphold the purposes of the National Honor Society; maintain the guiding principles; and give unsparingly of their time and energy to promote these ideals. They will strive by word and deed to make these ideals their own.
The honor society is open to juniors who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.65 or higher. Membership is not automatic due to academic achievement. They must also meet or exceed, demonstrate, and prove high standards within the guiding principle of scholarship, leadership, service and character. They must complete an application and interview process determined by the local chapter advisory committee and receive a majority vote by the faculty council.
Once inducted, the members then each take on their own service project to be completed during their senior year.
