Delivering Food To Those That Need It
The Great Plains Food Bank Program’s mobile food pantry was in Stanley at the Mountrail County South Complex on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The program provides food assistance to anyone in need of food through the drive through distributions.
The distribution this time included foods that will be welcome for the upcoming Thanksgiving dinner including carrots, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, apples and pineapples.
The Mobile Food Pantry provides fresh vegetables, fruits, shelf-stable items, meat, bakery items, boxed goods and much more to communities in need. Items are distributed right off the truck by staff and volunteers and delivered directly to people in need.
Established in 2008, the Mobile Food Pantry and Pop-up Perishable Food Program are two programs of the Great Plains Food Bank bringing food and produce into rural communities struggling with access to food assistance.
