Commercial Club Kicks Off Summer

Commercial Club Kicks Off Summer

The Stanley Commercial Club and its members held a Kick-Off To Summer in Wilson Park on Monday, June 9.
This free family event featured inflatables, free swimming, games, music and food. The goal was for local business owners to share what they have to offer in a fun way.
Grillers were serving brats, burgers, hotdogs, ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and sides. There were also door prizes to register for.
The park was full throughout the event with organizers estimating there were around 500 people that took time out of their day to check out the activities.
Sponsors for the day included BNC, Bravera, Town & Country Credit Union, MWEC, Stanley Fire Department, CS Welding, BeMobile, Prairie Home Furnishings and Cashwise.

The Commercial Club sponsors many events throughout the year. The Commercial Club is composed of multiple small businesses operating to serve the community’s needs. These businesses are owned and operated by local community members who employ other community members. They generate sales tax revenue that goes back into the community.
The goal of the Commercial Club is to promote local businesses and organize events for the community and surrounding area to enjoy as well as promoting Stanley as a whole.
Some of the upcoming events include: 4th of July activities; Crazy Days on August 7; and Grapes and Grains on September 13.
Things are shaping up for the 4th of July with events starting in the morning with the Park District’s Firecracker 5K at 8:15 a.m. The Kiddie Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. and the Main Parade at 11:00 a.m. There will be three options for lunch. The Car Show will follow the parade at Flickertail Village. Mendenhall Crossing will be at the Prairie Rose Golf Course for a dance from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. and the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department will be shooting off fireworks at dusk by the Fair Building and South Complex. Watch for more details in the coming week’s papers.
