Blue Jays Hold Pink Out Night

With the Blue Jay volleyball team hosting their Pink Out event on Tuesday, Oct. 21, the team was wearing their pink jerseys in support of breast cancer awareness month. For many years, the Blue Jays have held their annual event to support the Side-Out Foundation, but they changed their focus last year. They have turned their focus to support local/area women who are going through their battle with breast cancer.
This year’s fundraising included free will donations and the annual pink bake sale. There was also a “chuck a duck” held between the second and third matches of the night. They raised $3719.27 so far.
Fundraising continues as the Mountrail County Medical Center and Mountrail County Health Foundation are holding a fun, friendly competition. Each of the 12 departments was given a bra and a craft kit, with the task to decorate their bra with as much creativity as possible by October 15. MCMC and Mountrail County Health Foundation posted the bras on their Facebook page with the public invited to vote for the best one. Voting is open through October 25. For every Like/Love on social media, $1 will be donated to the Dig Pink Fundraiser in Stanley. For every Share, $5 will be donated. MCHF has partnered with the Blue Jays in the last few years in their fundraising efforts.
