Blue Jays Hold Pink Out

Blue Jays Hold Pink Out

With the Blue Jay volleyball team hosting their Pink Out event on Tuesday, Oct. 8, the team was wearing their pink jerseys in support of breast cancer awareness month. For many years, the Blue Jays have held their annual event to support the Side-Out Foundation, but they changed their focus this year. With two elementary staff members going through their battle with breast cancer, instead they turned their focus to local support of McKenzie Jarmin and Amy Walter.
This year’s fundraising included free will donations and the annual pink bake sale. There was also a “chuck a duck” held between the second and third matches of the night. Fundraising continues as the Mountrail County Health Foundation is selling chances for a gun raffle with tickets on sale through October. The drawing will be held in early November. All proceeds will be added to the Blue Jay volleyball’s Pink Out donation. MCHF has partnered with the Blue Jays in the last few years in their fundraising efforts.
