And Just Like That We Have A Teenager
I’m not sure how it happened. It feels like it was just yesterday he was a tiny baby stealing all of our hearts. The visits that started at our house when he was a toddler seem like they were just a few days ago. And yet, somehow, Carter turned 13 on Sunday.
It is yet another milestone for this boy who first made me a Nana. By the time you read this we will have celebrated another important milestone on Tuesday as Carter has his confirmation. Then on Sunday, we will travel to Bismarck again for Abel’s first communion.
Being a Nana to my three precious grandchildren is one of the greatest joys of my life. I’m glad we’ll be there for these next two milestones and I hope we get to celebrate many more in the years to come. Spending time with Carter, Jozie and Abel always puts a smile on my face. I never know what will come next, but it’s always going to be entertaining!
Meanwhile, sandwiched between the boys’ special days, Dale and I will be making our annual trip to Vegas. We will celebrate Dale’s 70th birthday while we’re there. As usual, we don’t have a lot planned yet. We seem to enjoy just taking it as it comes and getting a few days of relaxation.
I’ll leave the office in the capable hands of Christina, Jada and Erika while we’re gone. Because I’ll be making trips to Bismarck on Tuesday and Sunday, some of the time I would have normally spent at my desk will now be spent otherwise.
So, if you come in next Monday and I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off, you’ll know why! Be patient if you see me or sent me an email while I was gone. It might take me a little longer than usual to respond.
