I Love This Time Of Year
This is one of my favorite times of year. Summer is still hanging around, yet the feeling of fall is in the air. The weather is completely unpredictable at this time of year. Just look at the last week. We spent days sweating with high heat and humidity. That finally broke over the weekend and Monday felt cool, a harbinger of the weather to come.
That being said, the fall sports seasons are underway and I’m excited to get back to the them.
I spent a little time on the golf course last Friday, riding in a cart with coach Megan Ploium and getting some pictures of the girls’ golfers.
I watched the first football game of the season from home but was grateful to Beth Wilhelmi for sending me pictures from the game. I can’t wait to get on the sidelines of the game this week. I spent last football season unable to be on the sidelines because of my broken foot, but it is like riding a bike. I’ll find my rhythm quickly.
I was sent pictures from cross country by Pam Nelson and stole a couple others from the team’s Facebook page for this week’s paper. Next Tuesday, I’ll get to hang out on the course and take pictures for myself.
Volleyball kicks off at home on Tuesday night, so it’s back to the gym for that as well.
I’m not sure where the summer went, because it feels like it hasn’t been that long since I was on sidelines, in gyms and on a track taking pictures. I’m excited to see the seasons starting again.
Taking sports pictures is one of my favorite things to do. I’ll shoot tons of pictures looking for the ones I will choose to use each week. It is always a challenge because I would love to use so many more than space allows.
