Just My Opinion by Mary Kilen

Ready For Some Heat!
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m ready for some warmer weather. I went out to Blaisdell for rodeo on Saturday and it was a beautiful afternoon. The sun was shining, there was little wind and hardly a cloud in the sky. Sitting in the sun, I could almost imagine my body absorbing some much needed Vitamin D. Those days have been few and far between so far this month. I’m tired for the high winds and want them to go away. My daylilies now lean to the west because of all the high winds.
On Monday afternoon, we had a couple of the riders from the Fuller Center bike ride stop in the office. One of them was talking about the cooler temperatures and asked if it is always like this here. Christina and I both smiled and said that this was definitely unusual and temperatures should be in the mid to upper 70s this time of year. She said she has been wearing her leggings and sweatshirts along the ride across Montana and North Dakota.
I’m ready for some more normal temperatures and right now it looks like they might be coming later this week. I hope so. I would love to be able to spend some time on the back of the Harley without needing to wear a jacket. I want to be able to work in my flowerbeds and watch my flowers spread as quickly as the weeds. They have both been enjoying all of the rain we have gotten, but some sun and heat would go a long way. I’m sure that will mean I’ll be able to watch the weeds grow, but I’ll take that for some heat. I’m sure the farmers would agree that some sun and heat would be appreciated.
Now, if you see me in August, and I’m complaining about it being too hot, please try not to remind me that I asked for it. I’d also appreciate that you not remind me fall and winter will be here before I know it and that I’ll be missing those temperatures!
