Volleyball Team Has Two Matches And NWC Tourney
Stanley’s varsity volleyball team had a busy week with two regular season matches and the Northwest Conference Tournament on their schedule last week.
On Tuesday, Oct. 4, the Blue Jays hosted the Nedrose Cardinals, posting the five set win. They traveled to Kenmare on Thursday, Oct. 6, losing that match in straight sets. Traveling to Glenburn for the NWC Tournament, the Blue Jays took home fourth place.

The Blue Jays hosted the Nedrose Cardinals for their annual Dig Pink Rally on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Blue Jays started out slowly, dropping the first set by a score of 15 to 25. They rallied in the second, but fell short, dropping that set by a score of 23 to 25. In the third set, the Blue Jays found their momentum and took the set by a score of 25 to 13 and followed that up with wins of 25-19 and 15-9 to take the match in five sets.
Ava Schuster led the team with 22 kills, followed by Clancy Hornberger with 11, Jordee Skaar with 5, Trenedi Barstad with 2 and Reagan Hermanson and Norah Hermanson with 1 each.
Kerrington Lee had 35 assists.

Corra Bell had 16 digs, followed by Kerrington Lee and Ava Schuster with 12 each, Norah Hermanson with 9, Reagan Hermanson with 4 and Jordee Skaar with 1.
Jordee Skaar had 2 blocks, followed by Ava Schuster with 1.
